Rancho Cordova, Calif. – Visit Rancho Cordova, the official destination organization for Rancho Cordova, has added two staff members to fill the newly created positions of Sales Coordinator and Content Manager, bringing the total number of the organization’s employees to eight people.
“We’re excited to bring on Lisa Leonti-Nottingham and Greg Watry as we expand our organization,” said Marc Sapoznik, president and chief executive officer of Visit Rancho Cordova. “Rancho Cordova is an ever-growing place for business travel and tourism in California’s Capital Region and Gold Country. With the addition of our new sales coordinator and content manager, we’re primed to continue elevating our community’s profile as a premier destination for groups and leisure travelers through expanded sales efforts and storytelling.”
Leonti-Nottingham joins Visit Rancho Cordova as the organization’s new sales coordinator. Before joining the team, she worked as the farmers market manager for the Midtown Association, an organization promoting the growth and preservation of Sacramento’s Midtown. While there, Leonti-Nottingham spearheaded a project that expanded the scope of the Midtown Farmers Market, bringing the total number of vendors from 60 to nearly 200 and establishing the weekly event as a cultural hub for the community. Before working for the Midtown Association, Leonti-Nottingham spent nearly 15 years working for Visit Sacramento. Her duties ranged from convention sales and sports development to events management. In her free time, Leonti-Nottingham runs her own photography business and is an avid hiker and trail runner.
“I'm happy to be returning to a destination marketing organization,” said Leonti-Nottingham. “Rancho Cordova has changed so dramatically over the last 15 years and is on an excellent trajectory for exciting growth. I enjoy being a part of an organization that has such a strong focus on community development.”
Watry joins Visit Rancho Cordova as the organization’s new content manager. With over 10 years of experience in journalism and marketing, Watry started his career in newspaper journalism as a general assignment reporter for the New Jersey Herald before moving into the science writing space. An East Coast transplant, Watry moved to Sacramento in 2017 for a science writer and communications specialist position with the UC Davis College of Biological Sciences. To this day, he still provides freelance science writing services for UC Davis. Watry’s work has received awards from the New Jersey Press Association, the Association for Communication Excellence, and the Council for the Advancement and Support for Education. In his free time, he enjoys writing fiction and poetry, spending time with family, and running.
“I’m excited to bring my experience in community storytelling and marketing to the Visit Rancho Cordova team,” said Watry. “My goal is to not only highlight Rancho Cordova’s draw as a destination for business travel and leisure tourism but to spotlight all the facets of our diverse community that make this place a hidden gem.”
