American River Parkway Half Marathon

Fuel your competitive spirit and support local non-profits by competing in the Great American Triathlon, a unique NO-SWIM event that spans 24.42 miles of running, cycling, and paddling along one of America’s most scenic urban landscapes. Whether competing solo or with a team, participants of all skill levels—from seasoned triathletes to weekend warriors—are welcome. Space is limited to 250 teams and 600 Ironperson competitors, so grab your friends and sign up today for this thrilling Sacramento tradition!

-Walkers’ Half Marathon: 7:15 a.m.
-Runners’ Half Marathon: 7:45 a.m.
-5K Run/Walk: 8:00 a.m.
-1K Kids’ Otter Dash: 9:00 a.m.

Half Marathon & 5K:
-Age groups range from 12 & Under to 85+.
-1K Otter Dash: All kids receive medals and shirts.
Course
The USATF certified course for the runners' half marathon begins at William Pond Park and winds through the scenic American River Parkway. It offers views of wildflowers, oak forests, and wildlife, including deer and eagles.

Time Limits
Runners' Half Marathon: 4 hours, 15 minutes
Walkers' Half Marathon: 4 hours, 45 minutes
5K participants: 2 hours
Aid Stations
Runners: Six aid stations
Walkers: Eight aid stations (every 1.5 - 2 miles)Each station offers ice-cold water and Gatorade, supported by local volunteers.
Parking
Parking opens at 6:00 a.m. at William Pond Park on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood, opening at 5:45 a.m. Please allow extra time to reach the start line.
Directions: From Hwy 50: Take Watt Ave exit, head north, turn right on Fair Oaks Blvd, and right on Arden Way to the park entrance. From Capital City Freeway: Take Arden Way exit, head east 5.5 miles to William Pond Park.
