For those who like to hit the links, Rancho Cordova offers three golf courses where you can channel your inner Tiger Woods year-round. The Mather Golf Course is an 18-hole course designed by Jack Fleming in 1959 on a former Air Force base. Players can take lessons, shop, and dine at the Navigator Cafe. What’s more, it is one of the first twenty-five Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary courses in California.
The Ancil Hoffman Golf Course, designed by Willaim Francis Bell in 1965, is a serene yet challenging course in Sacramento County, offering lessons and breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks at The Main Event Bar & Grill. The 18-hole public Cordova Golf Course features a lighted driving range, a pro shop, and lessons from PGA professionals.

Rancho Cordova can satisfy water sports with a family-friendly community pool featuring two swimming pools (an activity pool with a sloped entry from zero to four feet and a competition pool with deep and shallow lanes and a diving board), an open grass area, and a shade canopy. The Sacramento State Aquatic Center is located on Lake Natoma in Gold River and offers places to swim, boat, and kayak to the general public and students. In fact, the center is a regional boating instruction safety center funded by the California Department of Boating and Waterways.

The Mather Sports Complex is a mecca, with indoor and outdoor athletic facilities for baseball, soccer, basketball, racquetball, skateboarding, and dance, plus cardio and weight training rooms. Specialty sports have a home here, too. The Northern California Badminton Club is a fully dedicated, high-performance facility with a pro shop and the Granite Arch Climbing Center features some of the most natural indoor rock walls in North America for seasoned and amateur climbers. Young gymnasts can practice their craft at Technique Gymnastics, while adult and youth soccer players can join pick-up games and leagues at Le Five.
